In modern surgery, ordinary scalpels are rarely used, and electrosurgical and ultrasonic scalpels are mainly used. What is the difference?

The high frequency electrosurgical knife is an electrosurgical instrument that replaces the traditional scalpel for tissue cutting and separation. It heats the tissue when the high-frequency current generated by the electrode tip of the electrosurgical knife is in contact with the body. By separating and coagulating the tissue, it achieves the purpose of cutting and hemostasis. The electrosurgical mode during the operation is divided into electrosurgical and electrocoagulation modes. Electrocutting is mainly used to cut the skin. Generally, after cutting the epidermis and dermis with traditional surgery, it is cut with electrocoagulation. When working in electrocoagulation mode, it can stop bleeding while cutting tissue. Generally, the electrocoagulation mode is not used when cutting the skin, which is easy to cause skin burns to form scorched eggplants and cause poor wound healing in the later stage.
